Project Manager / Special Projects

As a Project Manager/Special Projects at Robertson, you will be the central point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and the internal team. Your job is to make sure every project runs smoothly, stays within budget, and meets all quality and safety standards. You will be able to manage multiple projects at once, juggle timelines, and lead teams to deliver results.

Lead projects from start to finish: Oversee commercial and industrial construction projects, ensuring they’re completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. 

Budget Management: Take ownership of project budgets and track costs. You will review estimates, monitor spending, and make adjustments as needed to keep projects profitable and on track. 

Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating activities between subcontractors, suppliers, and the internal team. You will solve problems as they arise to avoid delays. 

Team Leadership: Direct and motivate project teams, ensuring effective communication between all parties involved. You will provide guidance, resolve issues, and keep everything running smoothly. 

Client Relations: Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any concerns. You will be the go-to person for all project related communications. 

Quality & Safety: Ensure that safety standards and quality controls are consistently followed on-site. You will play a key role in upholding Robertson’s reputation for excellence. 

Problem-Solving: Every project has its challenges, but you will be the one finding creative solutions. Whether it’s coordinating last-minute changes or managing tight deadlines, you will keep things moving forward.

  • Experience: Seven to ten years of experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry (commercial or industrial experience is a plus). 
  • Education: A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but we are open to experience that demonstrates your capability to manage complex projects. 
  • Leadership: You have experience leading teams, whether it’s managing subcontractors or working with internal crews. Your ability to motivate others and keep them on task is key. 
  • Problem-Solving: You do not just react to problems; you think ahead, anticipate challenges, and know how to pivot when things change. 
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary. You are comfortable working with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience with project management software (Viewpoint, Microsoft programs, Primavera, or similar) is a bonus. You will be managing schedules, budgets, and documentation digitally, comfort with the latest technology is important.
