Dayton Metropolitan Library
The New Dayton Metropolitan Library is a unique structure with features such as exterior tensioned fabric canopies, luminated stretch fabric ceilings within the interior common area and an open marketplace setting throughout the facility which is accentuated by natural daylight. The project achieved LEED Gold certification by the United States Green Building Council.
The Dayton Metro Library West Branch was designed to respond to the residents’ desire for the building to be a beacon in the community. The two soaring rooflines signify two branches coming together and are a nod to the history of flight at the neighboring original Wright Airplane Factory.
