The Newark City School District Preschool and Digital Academy project was renovation and repurposing of the former 325,000 SF State Farm building located in Newark Ohio. Commercial office space was converted into pre-school classrooms, a Digital Academy and a new technology department for the school district. During the renovation, a portion of the building remained open and was leased to The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College and the school district utilized the other available space for professional development and events. Robertson coordinated the construction with these events to ensure the safety of all participants.
The Robertson team was able to work in partnership with our architect and Newark staff to help create a preschool center that is functional as well as beautiful! In particular, Clay was a guiding hand when it came to budget estimating at a time when costs were exploding and labor was in short supply.
