Hodges Hall Restoration

Hodges Hall originally opened as Founder’s Hall. It was the oldest and largest building on the campus and was renamed in acknowledgement to the continuing support of Louella Hodges Reese prior to the ribbon cutting ceremony. The co-occupied space was transformed to meet the growing student enrollment numbers and expansion of academic offerings provided by both The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College. The restoration included a new floor plan to facilitate teaching, learning and engagement, an update to the mechanical and electrical systems a refreshed exterior gathering space and landscaping improvements.

The King Hall Addition and Renovation Project

The King Hall addition and renovation project transformed 10,000 square feet of existing dormitories and expanded the facility with a 7,000 square foot steel-framed to accommodate an additional forty students. The project enhanced existing dormitories, with new finishes, mechanical and electrical systems. The envelope of the new addition matched the elevations of the existing building and complemented the architecture of the structures throughout the campus.

Denison University Performing Arts Center

Robertson was engaged as the Construction Manager at Risk for the new Performing Arts Center on the campus of Denison University. The new Center is a blend between the twentieth century, red brick, neo-Georgian classrooms and the residence buildings, contemporary laboratories, and traditional brick and slate structures. The new facility consists of a new proscenium theater, dance pavilion, scene and costume shops, and several rehearsal/practice studios.

I am thankful to Robertson Construction for all the time, energy, and immense care you have put into bringing the Eisner Center to life. This is a beautiful building which will change how students for generations experience the arts at Denison. Thank you for making that happen.

Denison University Granville Inn Restoration

Robertson served as the Design-Builder on the restoration of the historic Granville Inn in downtown Granville, Ohio. The primary building facades were restored within historic preservation guidelines and the u-shaped building plan facilitated significant upgrades to the inward facing courtyard. The total restoration addressed thirty-nine rooms, forty-five beds, and increased the ballroom and conference spaces.

The Ohio State University | City of Columbus Parks & Recreation Griggs Reservoir Boathouse

The Griggs Reservoir Boathouse was commissioned to serve The Ohio State University women’s crew team, the Greater Columbus Rowing Association, Columbus Recreation and Parks and the local community. The building takes advantage of the natural topography of the site and allows visitors to enter the facility from different levels. Training, skull storage, special events spaces, gathering rooms and offices are all incorporated into this facility, including docks on the Scioto River.

As the General Contractor, Robertson constructed the John & Christine Warner Library in the heart of The Ohio State University Newark| Central Ohio Technical College campus. Within the state-of-the-art facility, students can grab a cup of coffee, catch-up with friends over a dish of pasta, play foosball or find solitude in ten specially designed study rooms.

Denison University Silverstein Hall

Robertson served as the Construction Manager at Risk on Silverstein Hall. The one hundred and seventy bed residence hall is comprised primarily of four-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments with a few two-bedroom, one-bathroom units. Several small community and service areas, a common laundry room, and a 3,500 square foot gathering space with casual food offerings on the ground level provide social space for student cohort and attractive amenities for class activities.

The teamwork and support everyone brought to the table was critical and much appreciated. The building is a wonderful addition to the campus, and it will be enjoyed by our students for years to come.

Zane State College Science & Technology Center

Robertson served as the General Contractor, in a multi-prime environment, for the New Advanced Science and Technology Center. The new building is a structural steel, brick, stone, and phenolic panel structure consisting of a stepped lecture hall, greeting area, galleria, classrooms, and laboratories. To promote green building concepts and achieve LEED Gold Certification, part of the facility is housed beneath a green roof and the utilized sustainable initiatives such as a photovoltaic solar array and wind turbine.

The Ohio State Buckeyes field Hockey Team is one of the best in the Midwest and they consistently compete for conference and National Championships. The team is made up of student-athletes who are passionate about the sport and committed to excellence. The New Field Hockey Complex with a new press box, synthetic turf field and grandstands will enhance both the player and spectator experience.

In full candor – this was nothing short of what seems to be a miracle given the market conditions that Robertson and Ford (specifically Anthony, Dan and Gayle) fought through to get here.  They have really done a great job.

Miami University Hayden Park Baseball Support Facility

As the Construction Manager at Risk, Robertson provided complete preconstruction and construction services for the new two-story baseball facility which features modern locker rooms, a player’s lounge, umpire locker room, coach’s offices, a lecture space, training equipment room, and functional support spaces. The New Support Facility complements the existing baseball amenities and enables Hayden Park to serve as the central recruiting and operations office for all Miami University baseball activities.

Hocking College Energy Institute

The Hocking College Energy Institute was the first higher education building in the state of Ohio to earn LEED Platinum certification from the United States Green Building Council. The facility is heated and cooled by twenty-six geothermal wells and includes a fuel cell, natural gas compressor and refueling station, vegetative roof, 21kw photovoltaic array, plug-in vehicular recharge stations and a wind generator.

LEED Platinum

As the General Trades Contractor, Robertson performed admirably. They receive no small credit for helping to ensure that the building was not only delivered on budget and on schedule, but also certified LEED Platinum, a rare achievement given the modest construction budget.

Denison University Chamberlin Lodge

Robertson served as the Design-Builder on the transition of a historic 1927 structure consisting of offices, classrooms, and laboratories to modern student apartments. The repurposing and expansion included the selective demolition of a 1960 era addition, complete gutting and substantial structural demolition and renovation of the remaining 1927 building to accommodate apartment style dorms.
